名詞。何かのごく少量。「The cost is epsilon(費用はepsilonだ)。」
形容詞。非常に小さい、無視できる。marginal未満。「We can get this feature for epsilon cost(この機能はepsilonの費用で手に入る)。」
within epsilon of:実用上あらゆる目的において区別がつかないほど十分に近い、within delta ofであるよりもさらに近い。「That's not what I asked for, but it's within epsilon of what I wanted(求めていたものとは違うが、欲しかったもののwithin epsilon ofだ)。」あるいは、十分に近くはないが、そこに到達するのにごくわずかしか必要としない、という意味のこともある。「My program is within epsilon of working(私のプログラムは動作するwithin epsilon ofだ)。」
